Famous for being the first haulage Company in Ireland to purchase a purpose built refrigerated trailer, take a look in this section to learn what other news Rea Transport has to tell you.
There was great excitement this past week, as Rea Distribution Ltd took delivery of two brand new temperature controlled Mercedes LWB Sprinters.
Two new Mercedes LWB Sprinters join our growing fleet of temperature controlled vehicles, giving us a diverse range of assets allowing us to meet the current industry demands. With assets ranging from mobile refrigerated cold cubes, temperature controlled vans and rigid trucks (including 40ft temperature controlled trailers) we believe we are now in a lead position to offer new and existing customers a reliable, secure, door to door temperature controlled service.
The two additional Mercedes LWB sprinters have been highly specified with industry leading Thermo King V 300 max 50 spectrum multi temp units. The units will heat to + 30 and cool to – 25. Both vans have been insulated with 75mm ice cube modular panel insulation, with removable partition and alloy floor protection strips. Onboard telematics, allowing remote access, have been installed to allow 360 degree monitoring, which gives real time information on several data points to include; live temperature monitoring, door opening and closing logs, temperature deviation alarms, along with vehicle tracking and location.
Additional security measures have been fitted to include slam locks and an anti-theft keyless engine running feature.
Director – Rea Distribution
It’s great to work with industry leaders such as Mercedes Benz and the team at MBTV NI along with Thermo King. Being involved in the build process carried out by our appointed service provider, Northern Ireland’s Thermo King dealer; Transport Technical Products, based in Ballymena. TTP take pride in what they do and pay every attention to detail, allowing them to understand exactly what our customer base want, enabling them to tailor the build process to suit our demands. Thanks to both MBTV NI and Transport Technical Products for the delivery of both these vehicles. We now have a intense validation and mapping exercise program to carry out on the vehicles before they enter into full time service, so hopefully they will be on the road delivering our customer base very soon.
